Strawberry Shortcake Smoothie Recipe

Smoothies can be an amazing way to begin your day and balance blood sugar in the morning. However, smoothies can also be sugar bombs filled with little else besides liquid and fruit. The smoothies that I drink and recommend to my clients must contain the key three: protein, fat, and fiber. This will ensure that you will stay full for 3-4 hours, maintain a steady blood glucose response, and nourish the healthy bacteria in your gut!

Try this strawberry shortcake recipe, and let me know what you think! It’s perfect for spring.

Recipe:

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk

  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I like BeWellByKelly)

  • 1/4-1/3 cup frozen cauliflower rice

  • 3-4 frozen strawberries (depending on size)

  • 1 tsp coconut oil

  • a few dashes of ceylon cinnamon

Enjoy!

XO,

Kara
